Global identification and registration of more than 100 new animal species in Agriculture faculty

Summary:

Faculty members of the Entomology department of the Faculty of Agriculture have identified and registered more than 100 new species of Iranian arthropods over the past 10 years.
Recent 10 years of research by Dr. Ali Asghar Talebi and alumni of the related field (Samira Farahani, Ali Ameri, Abbas Mohammadi, Ahmad Nadimi, Mohammad Kheirandish, Farzaneh Kazerani, Parisa Abdoli, Sana Dolati, Mohammad Zargar) lead to identification, more than 30 new species of insects which have been named and registered in the world and over 200 new species for biodiversity in Iran. This research focuses mainly on the identification of beneficial insects (parasitoids) that play an important role in the natural and functional control of agricultural pests and natural resources.
Researches in meteorology by Dr. Hamid Reza Haji Ghanbar and alumni of this field (Abdol Azim Mortazavi, Vahid Rahimi Nejad, Elham Arjmandi, Maryam Darab Emami, Maryam Majidi, Alihan Katlaw, Mohammad Sabahi, Amin Navabi and Amir Loghmani) conduce to more than 70 new species of mites have been recorded and recorded for the world and the world of science and about 50 new species for Iranian biodiversity. His research has focused mainly on insect mites that play an important role in reducing insect populations.
The results of these researches have been documented in more than 50 articles and in internationally accredited journals.
