Publication of TMU faculty member's book in Elsevier

Summary:

The book by Dr. Shiva Gorjian (academic member of agriculture faculty) in the field of solar photovoltaic technology was published by Elsevier International Publications.

The first edition of Dr. Gorjian's book "Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conversion: Technologies, Applications and Environmental Impacts" consists of 13 chapters that comprehensively explain and examine the various aspects of photovoltaic solar energy conversion technology. She is currently guest editor of the special issue of the journal Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments at Elsevier, entitled: Feasibility, Efficiency and Sustainability of Renewable Energy Applications in Agriculture.
The book published by Dr. Gorjian is an up-to-date reference in the field of photovoltaic solar technology that describes various aspects of this technology with a focus on most recent global scientific and technological advances. This book also provides the reader with an insight into future developments in this technology. It also provides an insight into future developments in this field by covering four distinct topics include "PV Cells and Modules", "Applications of PV Systems", "Life Cycle and Environmental Impacts" and "PV Market and Policies". This book is available at the link https://www.elsevier.com/books/photovoltaic-solar-energy-conversion/gorjian/978-0-12-819610-6 at Elsevier.
Dr. Shiva Gorjian is currently an assistant professor of biosystems engineering at Tarbiat Modares University. She received her PhD in biosystems engineering, a branch of Renewable Energy Technologies, from TMU in 2014. After finishing her PhD, she began her career as an expert in the field of solar energy technologies, particularly their applications in agriculture, at the Renewable Energy Research Institute of TMU, which continued two years. She has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cooperation with the TMU's Renewable Energy Research Institute under the guidance of Dr. Barat Ghobadian on solar energy technologies, focusing on the applications of these technologies in agriculture, especially desalination of saline water. She is also a referee in the Iran National Science Foundation, Vice Presidency for Science and Technology. Her fields of interest include solar desalination technologies, hybrid PVT systems, renewable-based power generation systems, energy and exergy analysis, and modeling and simulation of energy systems. She has more than 50 articles in prestigious national and international journals and collaborates with more than 10 domestic and foreign journals as a judge. She is currently working on a joint international project with India on water treatment systems using solar energy.
The journal "Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments" encourages papers on any aspect and scale of technologies for energy generation and/or utilization that decrease the impact of that production and use, from the laboratory to commercial applications. Papers on technology development/improvement, integration, regulation, standards and policy are within the scope of the journal, as well as case studies. It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, the scope of Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments covers Energy Engineering and Power Technology (Q1), Renewable Energy, Sustainability and the Environment (Q1). The Journal Impact 2019-2020 of Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments is 3.860, which is just updated in 2020.
