University academic received the Chinese Academy of Sciences? award

Summary:

Dr. Mohammad Javad Mahdavi Nejad, faculty of Architecture department, won the CAS* (China Academy of Sciences) Award for representing High-performance architecture theory.
The model of High-performance architecture has created a new way of looking at the future of Iranian architecture as well as countries with ancient civilization and authentic architecture in the context of the interplay between the cultural capabilities of indigenous architecture and the latest and advanced technologies. In the high-performance architectural model, the use of biocompatible materials and advanced facades has been suggested as a sustainable solution for improving sub-urban environment.
* Initiated in 2007, the Award for International Scientific Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is to commend and honor those eminent foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to facilitating cooperation with CAS in science and technology, in an attempt to encourage more efforts in this respect that will strengthen CAS’s science and technology innovation capacity and lead to improvement in its research performance, education and training, management, and reputation in the international scientific community. The CAS award has been given to 34 foreign scientists. Many of the winners also received China's national award for international cooperation in science and technology. (Xinhua)
